What candidates should tell recruiters

Candidates rarely say that they don’t like the job or the client. Instead of coming clean, they go off the radar or, more often that you would think, make up a family death or illness. They really should be open about their concerns. It helps them because you can find them an opportunity which suits them better, or maybe make changes that makes this job a good fit again. It helps them by not making them appear unprofessional and closing down future opportunities via us as the recruiter, or with a client. I have heard it all, from the candidate that didn’t take the job because they didn’t like the windows, or the toilets or the height of the building. So coming clean about why you don’t want a job really isn’t going to do as much damage as lying about it!
